The antique that inspired the Shaftesbury Table came out of a Quaker meeting house in its namesake’s Dorset market town. It was the original’s naivety of form that drew Max to it – the Quakers may not have practised the same refinement as the Shakers, but their furniture had more personality.
As per the original, the Shaftesbury Table is made in cherry wood, built up to a shine with oil and then waxed.
