Chamberlayne Bed

A facsimile copy of an impressive mahogany four poster bed originally made in 1765 and purchased from a Sotheby's house sale in 1998, following the dispersal of the estate of The Chamberlayne Family of Stoneythorpe Hall, Warwickshire.

The bed showed signs of its original "Toile de Jouy" upholstery which had been glued to the cornice. For the new design the cornice is available painted or copying the original, tight upholstered. The back posts are made in walnut to match the front posts, however they can also be made in beech wood and tight upholstered. The second and third images shows the bed fully dressed wearing short side curtains with silk swags, coordinating silk covered headboard and gathered back curtain.

The dimensions below refer to the bed depicted, which is 5' wide. All Max Rollitt Bespoke beds are made to order, according to client requirements; these can include fabrics, divan and mattress, as well as the frame itself.
