16th-Century Post-Nasrid Inlaid Taracea Tabletop Cabinet

A sixteenth-century tabletop cabinet, probably from Granada, Spain. The rosewood and exotic hardwood case and bracket feet inlaid with micromosaic ebony and bone, a Spanish and North African technique known as taracea, favoured by the Nasrids. The two cabinet doors opening to reveal a fitted interior of eleven drawers surrounding a central locking compartment, the inner door inlaid with intricate geometric parquetry.
