17th-Century Italian Cypress Wood Cassone

A seventeenth-century Italian cypress wood cassone, the front, sides and underside of the rising lid with panels of punched and penwork decoration depicting various allegorical scenes, all surrounded by griffins, musicians and fretwork. The underside of the lid in particularly bright and original condition. The metalware is seventeenth-century but not original; the key present and operates lock. Probably the best cassone I've ever had.
