A superb console or side table, the antique mahogany top standing on a carved and painted base in the manner of William Kent that was made and finished in our workshops. The design, with its carved frieze above six scrolling fluted beech legs topped with carved scallop shells, is based on a table found at Chatsworth House.
William Kent (1685-1748) was an architect and furniture designer renowned for his revival of the Palladian style in eighteenth-century England.
