George III Scrollwork Tea Caddy, circa 1790

A fine late-18th-century rolled paper work tea caddy with a central panel depicting a classical figure. The elliptical shaped body with a hinged lid decorated intricately with applied scrolls of paper filigree work petals surrounding a central brass handle, bordered by a satinwood frame with chequer stringing. The interior fitted with a removable lid.
