Pair of Regency Ebonised and Parcel Gilt Caned Armchairs with Hand-Painted Decoration, circa 1810

A pair of early-19th-century ebonised armchairs, in the manner of John Gee of Wardour Street. The ladder backs with gilded and hand-painted cartouches bearing putti, over caned seats. The down-swept arms and tapering front legs decorated with trailing leaves. Each with squab cushions, sold as found.
