Inspired by paintings of 18th-century dining rooms and an opulent damask from the Schumacher archives, the Dining Room is a space of richness and elegance married with comfort, joy and delight.

Working with the Schumacher team to bring the WOW!house dining room to life has been a real joy.
This historic American design house have allowed us to draw from their impressive historical archive, bringing the room to life with plush velvets, signature prints, opulent damasks and more from over 100 years of designs.

The scheme for the dining room was woven throughout with carefully chosen antiques and custom-made Max Rollitt Bespoke furniture, a combination that has come to be one of the hallmarks of our interior design practice. Discover all the pieces from the room below!
The Max Rollitt Bespoke pieces chosen for the Schumacher Dining Room combine longstanding favourites from our furniture collection with brand-new designs unveiled here for the first time.
These sit alongside completely custom pieces created specifically for the project, including a William Kent-inspired table dreamt up from a single antique leg, and an impressive 12-seater dining table that forms the centrepiece of the room.
Just like any Max Rollitt Interiors project, the Schumacher Dining Room draw heavily on our ever-changing arsenal of antiques.
Chosen as much for their form, character and presence as for their provenance, we see them as an essential part of creating a rich, joyful interior – adding warmth, texture and a sense of history to the rooms we use every day.
The dining table at the heart of the Schumacher Dining Room represents the combination of historical knowledge, technical skill and creativity that has come to define Max Rollitt Bespoke, Antiques and Interiors.
Taking their inspiration from an original antique base found at Chatsworth, our network of master crafters have created this completely bespoke 12-seater table. Its base is made from repurposed antique mahogany, and its top with mahogany veneer, again taken from an original antique.
With ample room around for friends and family – and yet more underneath for play – it’s a fitting centrepiece for a grand yet convivial dining space.

Each of Max’s four sons have contributed their own personal touches to the room, one in the form of furniture (Max’s youngest, Will, who built the Kent Table) and others with artwork (Laurie, Edward and Alfie).
